Parents/Spectators RESPECT Code of Conduct

This Club supports The FA’s Respect programme to ensure football can be enjoyed in a safe, positive environment. Parents and spectators must remember that children’s football is a time for them to develop their technical and social skills. Winning isn’t everything! Parents/Spectators must play their part and adhere to this Code of Conduct at all times. Parents/Spectators have a great influence on children’s enjoyment and success in football, and remember that positive encouragement will contribute to:

  •  Children enjoying football.

  • A sense of personal achievement.

  • An improved self-esteem.

  • Improving the child’s skills and techniques.

Parents/Spectators Obligation:

A parent/spectator should:

  • Remember children play for FUN.

  • Applaud every effort and good play as well as success from both teams.

  • Always respect the Match Official’s decisions.

  • Remain outside the field of play and within the designated spectators’ area (where provided).

  • Let the Team Official do their job and not confuse the players by telling them what to do.

  • Encourage the players to respect the Match Officials, Referee and the opposition.

  • Avoid criticising a player for making a mistake – mistakes are part of learning.

  • Never engage in, or tolerate, offensive, insulting, or abusive language or behaviour.

  • Give attention to each of the children involved in football not just the most talented.

  • Not shout and scream from the touchline.

Parents/Spectators MUST understand that if they do not follow this Code of Conduct, any/all of the following actions may be taken by The Club, County FA, League or The FA:

Parents/Spectators may be:

We ask all parents/spectators to follow the Parents/Spectators RESPECT Code of Conduct when attending a football game. This code of conduct includes showing respect to players, coaches, referees, and other spectators, refraining from the use of profanity, and demonstrating good sportsmanship. We also ask that all parents/spectators respect the rules of the game and refrain from coaching from the sidelines. We all want these games to be fun and memorable, so please show respect and courtesy throughout the game
